I live to do this to people.
GPOY
As an author, this was my hope each time I posted a chapter of Aquila. I FEED ON YOUR TEARS.
I got alot of that with “Sweet Child O’ Mine”. Although I do admit Hawke had Sebastain’s poisoned arrow coming.
…Am I evil if I totally went “MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” after seeing the gif set?
Because I completely enjoy doing this to people. XDDDDD

This life has been a test. If it had been an actual life, you would have received instructions on what to do and where to go.
We are the girls with anxiety disorders, filled appointment books, five-year plans. We take ourselves very, very seriously. We are the peacemakers, the do-gooders, the givers, the savers. We are on time, overly prepared, well read, and witty, intellectually curious, always moving… We pride ourselves on getting as little sleep as possible and thrive on self-deprivation. We drink coffee, a lot of it. We are on birth control, Prozac, and multivitamins… We are relentless, judgmental with ourselves, and forgiving to others. We never want to be as passive-aggressive are our mothers, never want to marry men as uninspired as our fathers… We are the daughters of the feminists who said, “You can be anything,” and we heard, “You have to be everything.

I hear all of these. At least weekly. It’s especially sad because… They can always use calculators, they can always use notes (they can use anything they write on their note packets. ANYTHING.), they never get it, we’re not allowed to have class outside (it’s a safety hazard. i hate rules.), we don’t have time in the year to watch movies what with all the studying for standardized tests (they’ve taken three since I started in January) (and that’s just for math class), and we never quiz over anything that wasn’t taught. and retaught. and reviewed. and retaught again.
And my response for “When am I ever actually going to use this?” I tell them, “In future math classes. Chances are, you won’t be using this particular skill in whatever job you’ll have in the future, but in order to graduate high school, you have to PASS at least three years of math classes. So get going.” Sometimes it is modified to, “You’ll need to know this for algebra next year, so work on it now. Also, I use this specific method when I do blahblahblah, and I never imagined I’d be doing any math after high school.”
And I’m still looking forward to being a teacher.
